Andy Murray

Andy Murray was born on May 15, 1987, in Dunblane, Perthshire, Scotland. His mother Judy Murray was the coach of the Scottish national team. At the age of 8, Andy had survived the Dunblane Massacre.
His mother was the main influence behind his career in tennis. She had separated from his father when Andy was nine years of age.Andy has been playing tennis from the age of two with his brother Jamie Murray.
Jamie is the top doubles tennis player in Britain. He won the Orange Bowl at the age of 12.At that time he trained under Leon Smith. Three years later, he trained under Emilio Sanchez in Spain and Andy won the junior US Open in 2004. After that he got a wildcard for the Davis Cup and later on became the Young Sports Personality of the Year.
In 2005, Andy Murray became the first player from Scotland to reach the third round of Queen’s Club Tournament. He also reached round three of Wimbledon.In 2008, he emerged victorious in the Qatar ExxonMobil Open and reached the top ten ranking. He lost the Australian Open
in the first round though he was seeded ninth. He won at Marseille and entered the French Open as tenth seeded.
By the age of 21, Andy has won over USD 2 million in prize money and has been sponsored by a number of high-profile brands.
