Sania Mirza feels that the most important person in her life is her mother, who has been a friend to her for since her birth. Sania’s father and coach gave her a tennis racket and the inspiration to play tennis at the age of six.
At the very young age Sania Mirza bagged the prestigious Arjuna Award in 2005 for the year 2004. By the end of 2005 she was ranked 42, the highest ranked tennis player ever from India. In 2009 she became the first Indian woman to win the Grand Slam title at the Australian Open.
