Sania Mirza to quit tennis after marriage in 2011

Sania Mirza will quit tennis after marriage in 2011. According to reports Sania Mirza one of the most successful female tennis player from India (current ATP ranking 57) has reportedly said that he plans to retire from professional tennis after her wedding. Though she has not revealed when her wedding is planned but according to reports the marriage will take place in year 2011.


It may be recalled that Sania Mirza has got engaged Sohrab from Hyderabad. Though Sohrab has earlier told media that he has no objection to Sania playing tennis – the current decision seems to be based on influence of many factors. Though on the face of it everyone is saying that this is her own decision – the real reason is still unknown.

Sania Mirza has been playing professional tennis since year 2003. She has even won Australian Open mixed doubles title with Mahesh Bhupathi becoming the first female Grand Slam winner from India.
